MongoDB has issued a warning stating that its corporate systems were compromised in a cyberattack, resulting in the exposure of client data. The firm noticed this breach earlier this week.
MongoDB clients received emails from CISO Lena Smart, informing them that the firm detected a security breach in their systems on the evening of Wednesday, December 13th. Subsequently, the company initiated an investigation into the event.
The email from MongoDB states that they are now conducting an investigation into a security incident where specific MongoDB corporate systems were accessed without authorization.
“This encompasses the disclosure of customer account metadata and contact information.” Currently, we have no knowledge of any instances where the data stored by customers in MongoDB Atlas has been compromised or accessed.
