RAR, 7-Zip, Tar, and GZ archives are among the nearly twelve more archive formats that Microsoft claims Windows 11 22H2 now natively supports.
With the optional KB5031455 Preview cumulative update for this month, the business has expanded compatibility to 11 additional file archive types.
Windows 11 has added.rar,.7z,.tar,.tar.gz,.tar.bz2,.tar.zst,.tar.xz,.tgz,.tbz2,.tzst, and.txz to its list of supported archive types; however, support for password-encrypted files is still lacking.
