Breaking: Victoria’s Secret Postpones Earnings Report Following Major Security Breach

# Victoria’s Secret Delays Earnings Release Due to Cybersecurity Incident

Fashion retail giant Victoria’s Secret has postponed its first quarter 2025 earnings release as it continues to recover from a security incident that occurred on May 24. The company, which reported annual revenue of $6.23 billion for the fiscal year ending February 1, 2025, and operates approximately 1,380 retail stores across 70 countries, took precautionary measures by shutting down corporate systems, certain in-store services, and its e-commerce website on May 26.

External cybersecurity experts were immediately engaged to assess the impact and assist with recovery efforts. While the company’s website was successfully restored on May 29, work continues to fully restore access to all corporate systems.

“The restoration process has prevented employees from accessing certain systems and information needed to support the Company’s release of its financial results for the first quarter ended May 3, 2025,” Victoria’s Secret stated in a press release, explaining the postponement of their previously scheduled earnings announcement.

Although Victoria’s Secret has not explicitly confirmed the nature of the incident, the ongoing restoration operations suggest a possible ransomware attack. The company has not responded to requests for additional information.

This incident follows a concerning trend of cyberattacks targeting fashion retailers. Recent victims include luxury brands Dior and Cartier, while German sportswear company Adidas recently disclosed a data breach after hackers compromised a customer service provider. British retailers including Harrods, Co-op, and Marks & Spencer have also faced attacks linked to the DragonForce ransomware operation and Scattered Spider threat actors in recent months.
