Breaking: HPE's Critical Source Code at Risk as Hacker Claims Major Security Breach

HPE Investigates Potential Data Breach Claims by IntelBroker

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has launched an investigation following claims by threat actor IntelBroker of a security breach in their developer environments. The incident, reported on January 16, allegedly involved the theft of sensitive company data.

According to IntelBroker, they gained access to HPE’s systems for at least two days, reportedly compromising:
– API and WePay systems
– Public and private GitHub repositories
– Certificates and encryption keys
– Zerto and iLO source code
– Docker builds
– Legacy user information

HPE spokesperson Clare Loxley stated that while the company has implemented immediate security measures, including credential deactivation, there is currently no evidence of a breach or impact on customer data or business operations.

This isn’t IntelBroker’s first high-profile claim. The group is known for several significant breaches, including:
– DC Health Link (affecting 170,000 individuals)
– Nokia
– Cisco
– Europol
– Home Depot

HPE’s security history includes previous incidents such as the 2018 APT10 Chinese hackers breach, the 2021 Aruba Central platform compromise, and a 2023 Microsoft Office 365 email environment infiltration by suspected Russian APT29 hackers.

The investigation remains ongoing as HPE evaluates the validity of IntelBroker’s latest claims.
