Critical Windows 10 Update Restores SSH Connections, Patches Six Exploited Vulnerabilities

# Microsoft Releases Critical Windows 10 Update KB5053606 with Bug Fixes and Security Patches

Microsoft has rolled out the KB5053606 cumulative update for Windows 10 22H2 and 21H2, addressing multiple bugs and security vulnerabilities. This mandatory update includes the March 2025 Patch Tuesday security fixes, which resolve six actively exploited zero-day vulnerabilities.

## Key Update Information

After installation, Windows 10 22H2 will update to build 19045.5608, while Windows 10 21H2 will reach build 19044.5608. Users can install the update through Settings > Windows Update or manually download it from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

## Major Bug Fixes

The update addresses several important issues, including:

– Fixed OpenSSH service failure that prevented SSH connections
– Resolved Desktop Window Manager (dwm.exe) crashes
– Fixed multiple Narrator issues with Chinese IME
– Corrected Chinese IME responsiveness problems when changing font settings
– Updated Daylight Saving Time changes for Paraguay
– Updated COSA profiles for certain mobile operators

## Known Issues

Two known issues persist from previous updates:

1. Update installation may fail on devices with Citrix Session Recording Agent (SRA) version 2411. Workaround: Stop the Session Recording Monitoring service before installing the update.

2. Windows EventViewer may incorrectly display an Event 7023 error about SgrmBroker.exe. Microsoft notes this error doesn’t impact functionality and will be fixed in future updates.

As this is a mandatory security update, it will automatically begin installation when checking for updates. Users can schedule a convenient restart time to complete the installation process.
