Russian Espionage Ring Uncovered: Three Charged in Germany

German authorities have charged three Russian-German nationals with operating as Russian secret service agents. The suspects, identified as Dieter S., Alexander J., and Alex D., face serious allegations of espionage and national security threats.

Dieter S., the primary suspect arrested by the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), faces additional charges of participating in sabotage operations and photographing military installations. He was also charged with fighting for the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) armed unit in October 2024.

According to the Office of the Federal Prosecutor (Generalbundesanwalt), Dieter S. maintained contact with Russian intelligence and planned various sabotage activities across Germany. His targets included:
– Military infrastructure
– Industrial sites
– Railway lines used for military transport
– U.S. military facilities in Bavaria
– A loading station in Upper Palatinate
– A tool manufacturing company

Alexander J. and Alex D. allegedly assisted in these operations by March 2024, helping gather intelligence through photographs and videos of military transports.
