Microsoft has extended testing of its innovative Recall feature to AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs within the Windows 11 Insider program, following its initial preview on Snapdragon devices last month.
Recall, introduced in May, automatically captures and analyzes screenshots of active windows, allowing users to search through their activity history using natural language queries. To address security concerns, Microsoft implemented several protective measures:
Key Security Features:
– Opt-in functionality requiring Windows Hello authentication
– Automatic filtering of sensitive data (credit cards, passwords)
– User-controlled app and website exclusions
– Anti-malware protections
– Customizable storage settings
The preview is currently available in six languages: Chinese (simplified), English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish, with recent expansion to the European Economic Area (EEA).
New Features:
– Image Creator and Restyle Image support in Microsoft Photos
– Click to Do functionality for text manipulation
– Options to rewrite and adjust text tone
The update is available to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel through Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.2510 (KB5048780), specifically for Copilot+ PC users.
