Microsoft has launched the KB5060829 preview cumulative update for Windows 11 24H2, delivering 38 improvements including enhanced taskbar functionality and a new PC-to-PC migration tool.

This optional non-security preview update serves as a monthly testing ground for Windows administrators. Unlike regular Patch Tuesday updates, it focuses on bug fixes, improvements, and new features rather than security patches. The changes tested here will roll out to all users in next month’s official release.

**PC-to-PC Migration Experience**
Microsoft introduces a new migration tool that allows users to transfer files and settings from old computers to new ones during setup. While the feature is beginning its rollout, full support during PC setup will arrive in future updates through a phased deployment.

**Improved Taskbar Design**
The taskbar now accommodates more app icons in limited space situations. Users can enable this feature through Settings > Taskbar settings > Taskbar behaviors > Show smaller taskbar buttons.

## Installation and Compatibility

## Known Issues

The update has one reported problem: CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) text may appear blurry in Chromium-based browsers like Chrome and Edge when displayed at 96 DPI (100% scaling).
