Microsoft has announced that the Windows 11 24H2 update, also known as the Windows 11 2024 Update, is now rolling out to all compatible devices that aren’t subject to safeguard holds.
“We have reached the last phase of the gradual rollout for version 24H2 via Windows Update on Settings,” Microsoft stated in its Windows release health update. “If your device is ready for the update, you’ll see the option to Download and install Windows 11, version 24H2.”
Devices running Windows 11 versions 23H2, 22H2, and 21H2 (Home and Pro editions) that aren’t managed by IT departments will receive the update automatically, with users able to choose when to restart their devices or postpone the installation.

Some systems still face compatibility issues preventing immediate updates, including PCs with:
– Integrated cameras
– Dirac audio improvement software
– Security or enterprise software using SenseShield Technology’s sprotect.sys driver
– Easy Anti-Cheat application
– Safe Exam Browser application
## How to Check Eligibility and Install
Users can verify their system’s eligibility using the PC Health Check app or by reviewing Windows 11 specifications and system requirements.
To manually install the update, navigate to Windows Update Settings and click “Check for Updates.” If eligible and not affected by safeguard holds, the “Download and install” option will appear. Microsoft provides guided assistance for resolving any upgrade issues.

The update began rolling out to enterprise testers in May 2024 and was released as a complete operating system swap for other customers in October. It will also be available to eligible Windows 10 22H2 PCs by late January 2025.
